Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay) is a leading engineering and technology university in the country considered to be amongst the best ones in the whole of India. It was founded in the year of 1958 and is in Powai, Mumbai. This covers the area of about 550 acres.
IIT Bombay provides undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in diverse areas such as computer sciences, electrical, mechanical, civil mechanical engineering and metallurgy. IIT Bombay Eligibility Criteria 2024
1. Candidate is required to be completed passed Class 12th or comparable examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics as unites of study along with the compulsory subject of one option with the distinctive subjects such as Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocation.
2. Candidate must make a minimum of 75% average scores in Class 12 exams or should fall among the top 20 percentile in their respective boards. The reservation arranged for the SC/ST candidates is equal 65%.
3. Candidate should not be more than 25 years old for the general category, provided that they should be no more than 30 years for reserved categories as at October 1, in the admission year. There will be a 5 years exemption for the PwD candidates.
4. The aspirant has to take JEE Advanced test conducted by IIT Bombay in order to score the prescribed cut - off marks to be admitted to undergraduate engineering courses provided by IIT Bombay.
5. Due to rank in JEE Advance and available seats, students is necessary to take part in the joint seat allocation process and pick up their choice of course and campus.
6. If the shortlist is based on seat allocation, the candidate must make the admission fees and confirm the seat within the time period provided. Moreover, the admission guidelines should be considered.

IIT Bombay Admission Process 2024
1. The candidate must have passed XIIth/equivalent examination and the requirements of major subjects are Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with one either biology, biotechnology or technical vocational subject on an optional basis.
2. The candidate should have secured at least 75% marks aggregate in standard 12th or rank in top twenty percentile in their respective boards. When it comes to SC/ST category candidates, the minimum of the aggregation percentage is 65%.
3. The nominee must have finished the JEE Advanced test and be allotted marks respectively for different categories as concerned the IIT Bombay admission procedure.
4. It would have been more appropriate had the candidate have obtained a medical clearance certificate from a registered medical doctor and pass acceptability due to academic qualifications and age limits for admission.
5. If the candidate appeared in more than one Class XII we will consider just the recent performance only while calculating the aggregate percentage marks.
6. If the mark sheet issued by the board does not containing the compartmental/failures status in Class XII then the university has to concerned regarding the issue a separate certificate to the students in which the same must be mentioned at the time of admission.
